This led to a change in the market, and then the production halted during World War II, and petrol rationing started to affect the caravan industry in the 1940s. The Streamline Rover was used to help the caravan industry develop again. This was the forerunner to the famous 'Sprite' Model. This was developed in the late 1940s, somewhere around 1948. Moreover, the caravans developed from box-like trailers to more equipped vehicles and portable houses with showers, rooms and kitchen facilities.
